A theoretical exercise that proposes the creation of a new low-density residential neighbourhood alongside the Gregorio Marañón Hospital in a well-connected area with the potential to consolidateMadrid’s urban growth. The proposal is based on a scenario in which the current CLESA factory does not exist—an iconic industrial building erected in 1961 and designed by Alejandro de la Sota together with the engineer Manuel Ramos, which was pioneering in its use of prestressed concrete to achieve large open spaces. Its architectural significance has made it a benchmark for modernity in Spain.
