Ottobock, a leading orthopaedic technology company founded in 1919 in Berlin, was established to industrialize prosthetics manufacturing following World War I, giving rise to an entirely new industry. With a solid international track record and as a historic partner of the International Paralympic Committee since 2005, the company combines technological innovation with a strong commitment to social responsibility.
The project involves a partial renovation of the headquarters, reorganizing the office area to incorporate a new conference and customer service zone with a more representative character, as well as new workspaces, changing rooms, and an expanded flexible cafeteria. The intervention also includes access adaptation and the creation of a new facade skin, which serves as a solar protection element for the existing envelope.
In the interior spaces, the material selection establishes a dialogue with the architectural language of the original 1970s building.
